EV charging and power for your region — live in days, not years.
EzyPlug is a mobile battery and fast EV charger on a road-legal trailer. Once on site it runs the same day with no grid upgrade, and it can recharge from the low-cost or curtailed solar already in your region. It’s designed to fit existing ARENA and state funding programs — so for many sites it can be pursued as a grant-funded project rather than capex, where the program and round allow.
EzyPlug supplies the rig through a reseller arrangement. We quote honest lead times and confirm availability, pricing and insurance in writing before you commit — nothing here is a promise of stock on the shelf.
Two documented problems, one asset
Regional Australia is wasting cheap solar at noon and waiting years for the grid connections that would let it charge EVs. EzyPlug closes both gaps at once.
Problem 1 — the cheap solar being switched off
Regional solar is being switched off at midday
- Australia curtailed more than 7 TWh of utility-scale solar and wind in 2025 — roughly triple 2022.
- In Queensland, wholesale prices were zero or negative in about two-thirds of midday dispatch intervals through Q3 2025.
- South Australia curtails a large share of its utility solar, with negative daytime prices now routine.
That power has nowhere to go. Parked near a solar farm, our rig soaks it up instead.
Problem 2 — the grid can't keep up
A permanent fast-charging connection can take years
- Connecting a 150–350 kW fast-charging hub often means a network upgrade measured in years, not months.
- In surveys, around a quarter of EV drivers report difficulty finding charging in rural areas, and inland and northern Australia remain underserved.
- Grid-connection bottlenecks are repeatedly named the number-one obstacle to charging rollout.
A council can't wait years for a connection. Our rig tows in and runs the same day it arrives — no grid upgrade to get it running.
Figures reflect public AEMO and industry reporting through 2025–26. We’re happy to supply the underlying sources on request.
The rig
A battery and fast charger that goes where the grid can’t.
Tow it to a blackspot, a depot, an event or a grid-constrained site. Charge it from nearby solar during the day, then deliver it as fast EV charging, worksite power or resilient backup. When the job moves, so does the rig.
- Deploys in days
- Road-legal trailer. No network application, no DA wait, no connection cost.
- No grid upgrade to deploy
- Runs standalone and can recharge from existing or curtailed solar nearby where available.
- Fast EV charging + power
- DC fast charging for EVs plus industrial and standard outlets for a depot, event or worksite. Exact kW / kWh provided on the unit spec sheet.
- Redeployable
- One asset covers several sites across the year — move it to the pain.
Funding fit
A grant-aligned project, not just a capex ask
EzyPlug is designed to fit the public programs built to break exactly the connection-cost and deployment-time barriers your region is hitting — so, where a program and its round allow, it can be pursued as a grant-aligned project rather than a capex ask.
ARENA — Driving the Nation Fund
Primary fit~$500M fund that explicitly covers regional and remote charging infrastructure. A funded council pilot using the rig as the deployable asset is a clean, eligibility-aligned project.
Accelerating EV Charging Program
CPO + network partnershipsPairs charge-point operators with network businesses to speed grid connection and fill gaps. We're the interim mobile layer while permanent assets wait for connection.
ARENA — Community Batteries
Councils & consortia$171M initiative for councils and network-led consortia. The rig is a deployable community battery — charge from curtailed midday solar, discharge to EVs, events and depots.
State blackspot & EV programs
Verify current roundNSW regional blackspot charging, the Queensland EV Strategy, SA community-battery funding and Essential Energy's network-asset charging program are all live doors — confirmed per state at application time.
CEFC concessional finance
Finance layerBelow-market debt for fleet and charging electrification — the finance path for larger commercial buyers rather than a grant.
Program fit shown here is indicative and current as at October 2026. Grant programs open and close without much notice, so we confirm the current round and eligibility before we put anything in writing — we never promise “funded” without checking the live status.
How councils start with us
Start with a pilot. Scale when it’s proven.
- 1
A short paid pilot or hire
Trial the rig at an event, a blackspot or a depot. Fast to approve, no capex threshold, and you see real numbers for your site.
- 2
A grant-aligned proposal
We map the rig to a suitable program and provide the specs and ROI detail, so procurement becomes “apply for funding,” not “find budget.”
- 3
A usage report you can acquit
After the pilot you get energy delivered, vehicles charged, solar used and uptime — ready to attach to a grant acquittal or council report.
Honest lead times. We supply through a reseller arrangement and don’t hold stock on a shelf. We’ll never promise a unit is sitting ready — you secure a funded unit now and we deploy within the manufacturer’s current lead time, which we confirm in writing before you commit. Pilots and hire work to your event or project date.
For procurement & infrastructure officers
Questions you’ll be asked
- Do we have to buy a unit to start?
- No. We lead with a short paid pilot or hire — for an event, a blackspot or a grid-constrained depot. A pilot usually sits below the capex thresholds that trigger a full procurement process, and it's the honest way to see the numbers before anything bigger.
- Is this a capital expense for us?
- It doesn't have to be. For many sites the rig can be pursued through funding programs (Driving the Nation, Community Batteries, state blackspot funds) rather than capex — subject to each program's current round and your organisation's eligibility. We provide the specs, ROI figures and documentation that fit the program, so your submission is easier to build.
- How quickly can it be on site?
- Once a unit is secured, it deploys in days and runs standalone — no grid upgrade to get it running. We supply through a reseller arrangement and don't hold stock on a shelf, so we quote honest lead times: you secure a funded unit now and we deploy within the manufacturer's current lead time, which we confirm in writing before you commit. For a pilot or hire we work to your event or project date.
- What about insurance, setup and safety?
- Responsibilities — delivery, siting, setup, insurance and operation — are set out in the pilot agreement, and we confirm insurance cover in writing before any deployment. We provide the full specification and compliance documentation for your risk assessment up front.
- Will we get reporting for a grant acquittal?
- Yes. We provide a usage report — energy delivered, vehicles charged, solar soaked up and uptime — in a form you can attach directly to a grant acquittal or a report to council.
- Who are we talking to?
- EzyPlug — an Australian-owned, Gold Coast business deploying mobile battery and EV-charging systems. You deal with us directly, not a call centre.
